# Is APLD a useful leading signal?

Yes, but as a **capacity execution signal**, not a standalone AI-chip demand forecast.

APLD is unusually useful because it discloses named campuses, MW, lease status, ready-for-service timing, and some revenue conversion. That makes it better than most hyperscalers for physical forecast-vs-actual tracking.

The weakness is attribution: contracted MW does not directly tell us when GPUs are purchased, who owns them, or when revenue fully ramps. APLD should be tracked alongside CoreWeave, NVDA data-center revenue, and equipment vendors.

Current score: **7/10 signal quality**.
